At CARE Specialised Remedial School, we believe that learning is as unique as every child.
With over one decade of experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) settings, we have consistently observed that many neurodiverse students, despite having average or above-average cognitive abilities, encounter difficulties in mainstream remedial schools.
These challenges are not a reflection of their intellectual capacity but rather stem from ongoing efforts to manage emotional regulation, independence, the development of social and communication skills as well as other processes foundational to learning.
At CARE Specialised Remedial School, we provide a structured, therapeutic learning environment for Foundation Phase learners who require more support than a mainstream classroom can offer.
We are a remedial school, not a special needs facility. Our learners work toward meeting grade-level expectations within a supportive, adapted environment.
We integrate academic remediation with therapeutic principles so that learners can build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, communication, regulation and independence.
Our focus is not simply catching up.
Our focus is building competence, confidence and long term learning capacity.
Our Approach
CARE adopts a curriculum-informed therapeutic model. Unlike typical remedial schools which focus primarily on academic remediation and curriculum adjustments, we integrate therapeutic principles and sessions into daily learning and prioritise support in key developmental areas such as:.
- Emotional regulation and nervous system stability.
- Sensory integration and processing
- Functional communication development.
- Behaviour support grounded in underlying developmental needs.
- Development of self-monitoring and independent learning skills.
At CARE Specialised Remedial School, education and therapeutic support is fully integrated, not delivered separately. We believe that meaningful academic progress is only possible when learners feel safe, regulated and supported. Academic learning is thus scaffolded within a structured therapeutic framework that fosters long-term development while upholding the curriculum standards for each grade.

Our Vision & Values
At CARE Specialised Remedial School, our vision is to foster an educational space deliberately designed to address learning barriers while nurturing foundational skills. We incorporate targeted therapeutic support directly into our curriculum, helping learners overcome obstacles that may hamper academic achievement.
Through this holistic framework, we empower students to build core skills essential for effective learning. Academic remediation is paired with therapeutic support, preparing learners both academically and developmentally for ongoing educational success.
At CARE Remedial, we believe that every autistic and neurodiverse learner has the right to access education in a way that honours their individuality and potential. We recognise that traditional learning models do not meet the needs of all learners, and we are committed to creating an environment that values difference as strength.
We embrace diverse learning styles by providing flexible, sensory-informed, and relationship-centred approaches that support regulation, engagement, and meaningful participation. Our goal is to ensure that learners who do not fit into the traditional model are still given the opportunity to access remedial schooling, experience success, and develop the skills they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
